Finding decent weather this summer was tough; we either had a heat wave or it was fairly cool (more like nice late September weather). So picking an evening to sleep outside under the stars was a bit tricky but we finally managed.
All we had to do was throw some sleeping bags out on the porch and we were set. The moon was almost full and the sky was perfectly clear. I was still cold (but when aren't I) for most of the night, and eventually the deck became rather uncomfortable, but overall it was pretty cool. I don't really know that I've ever just slept completely under the sky, without a tent or a tarp. I would definitely do it again. It was pretty neat to watch the moon progress across the sky, and then wake up to a light sky at 6am.
I'm a little addicted to nature sometimes, what can I say?
